Basketball Game Preview: Seymour Eagles vs. Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders

Seymour hasn't had much luck against Gatlinburg-Pittman recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Seymour Eagles will host the Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Thursday, Seymour came up short against Halls and fell 60-51. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while the Red Devils are ranked 139th).

Despite the defeat, Seymour had strong showings from Hayes Golden, who posted seven points in addition to seven assists and five boards, and Ayden Huskey, who scored six points.

Meanwhile, Gatlinburg-Pittman had to suffer through an 81-53 loss at the hands of Sevier County. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Highlanders have suffered against the Smoky Bears since January 25, 2022.

Gatlinburg-Pittman's defeat dropped their record down to 20-7. As for Seymour, their loss dropped their record down to 8-17.
