Basketball Recap: Make It 22 in a Row for Muddy River Homeschool

Muddy River HomeSchool put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down the CHAAMP HomeSchool Hawks 60-43. Given the Counselors' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 24th in Mississippi, while the Hawks are ranked 671st in Texas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Muddy River HomeSchool to victory were Caleb Sanders and Sun Michael Williams. Sanders went 11 for 23 on his way to 23 points along with eight steals and five boards, while Williams dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Sanders a new career-high in blocks (four). Luke Sanders was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to six rebounds and six steals.

Muddy River HomeSchool smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matches.

When it comes to explaining why CHAAMP HomeSchool lost, don't look at Reece Wigley. Despite the final result, he posted eight points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Frank, who had 13 points.

Muddy River HomeSchool's victory bumped their record up to 22-0. As for CHAAMP HomeSchool, they moved to 18-7 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Muddy River HomeSchool has already played their next game, a 43-41 defeat against Tyler HEAT on the 18th. As for CHAAMP HomeSchool, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 63-50 win against Pontchartrain Christian HomeSchool on the 18th.
