There's no place like home for Westview, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They never let the Ramona Bulldogs get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Friday. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.
Westview got a great performance from Kaya Rodriguez as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Rodriguez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kamryn Gonzalez was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Sarah Deng, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Westview hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in six consecutive matchups.
Westview's record is now 13-8-1. As for Ramona, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-13-1.
