Football Game Preview: MacDonald Condor vs. Cupertino Pioneers

The MacDonald Condor will take on the Cupertino Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (MacDonald has six straight victories, Cupertino has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

While MacDonald didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-6), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Homestead by a score of 14-7 on Friday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead MacDonald to victory, but perhaps none more so than John Leonard, who rushed for 107 yards and one touchdown. Those 107 rushing yards gave Leonard a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Cupertino's offense. They were dealt a 35-0 defeat at the hands of Mills on Friday.

Cupertino's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for MacDonald, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

MacDonald didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Cupertino in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 20-14 victory. Do the Condor have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pioneers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
