Basketball Recap: Atlantic Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

Atlantic won the last time they faced DeLand and things went their way on Thursday too. The Atlantic Sharks came out on top against the DeLand Bulldogs by a score of 60-53. Given the Sharks' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 208th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, DeLand still got an impressive performance from Justin Suarez, who went 8 of 16 en route to 22 points. Suarez's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Davis, who posted eight points.

Atlantic is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for DeLand, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-6.

Atlantic has already played their next contest, a 56-53 win against Hagerty on the 13th. As for DeLand, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 54-49 loss against Flagler Palm Coast on the 14th.
