Baseball Game Preview: Frontier Falcons vs. Williamsville North Spartans

For the second straight game, Frontier will face off against Williamsville North. The Falcons will take on the Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Things were looking good for Frontier after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Williamsville North by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Falcons have suffered against the Spartans since April 26, 2022.

For Williamsville North's part, Lucas Cordero looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Cordero has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Drew Katzman was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nathyn Kroll, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one stolen base.

The win was the fourth in a row for Williamsville North, bringing their record up to 7-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Frontier, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
