South entered their tilt with Goddard on Thursday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Lions. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 on Thursday.

The team relied heavily on Caden Stauffer, who scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Jace Humphrey was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

South was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Goddard only posted a batting average of .130.

South pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Goddard, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Coming up, South will venture away from home to challenge Derby at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Goddard, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Maize South on Tuesday.
