Baseball Recap: Otsego Gets the Win

Otsego's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Southview Cougars. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 16-13 win the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2021.

The team relied heavily on Grady Frank, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Bodde Simon was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Otsego's victory bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Southview, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Otsego will venture away from home to face off against Oak Harbor at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 4, the Rockets 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Southview, they will square off against Clay at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
