The Kickapoo Chiefs will challenge the Neosho Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kickapoo will be strutting in after a win while Neosho will be coming in after a loss.
On Tuesday, Kickapoo made easy work of Joplin and carried off a 3-0 victory. The Chiefs haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Kickapoo took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-12, 25-14.

Kickapoo found their leader in sophomore Brittan Smith, who had eight digs and seven aces. Those seven aces set a new season-high mark for Smith. Myla Capel also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Kickapoo was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2024.
Meanwhile, Neosho came up short against Glendale on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
While Neosho was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-22, 25-16.
Neosho's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10-2. As for Kickapoo, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Kickapoo took their victory against Neosho when the teams last played back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Chiefs repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
