Mendota is a perfect 10-0 against Avenal since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Aztecs will host the Buccaneers at 4:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Mendota's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Avenal has been banged up by 11 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

Firebaugh hit Avenal with a seven-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Buccaneers came up short against the Eagles, falling 15-3.

Avenal saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marco Abundiz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Jeremiah Rubio also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Mendota's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Avenal, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-21.

Mendota took their victory against Avenal in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 22-1 score. Will the Aztecs repeat their success, or do the Buccaneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
