Baseball Recap: Davis Sr. Comes Up Short

After flying high against Pleasant Grove last Thursday, Davis Sr. came back down to earth. The Davis Sr. Blue Devils fell just short of the Elk Grove Thundering Herd by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Blue Devils have suffered since April 8, 2024.

Davis Sr. saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Larsen, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Larsen a new career-high.

Davis Sr. dropped their record down to 2-3-1 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Elk Grove, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Davis Sr. will head out to square off against Folsom at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Davis Sr. is facing Folsom at the right time seeing as Folsom is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Elk Grove, they are taking a road trip to face off against McClatchy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. McClatchy will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Elk Grove surely won't give up without a fight.
