Richards School for Young Women Leaders can finally bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They skirted past the Cedar Creek Eagles 42-40.

Richards School for Young Women Leaders' victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-10. As for Cedar Creek, they dropped their record down to 1-18 with the defeat, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richards School for Young Women Leaders will square off against Bastrop at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cedar Creek, they will challenge Crockett at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
