Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey St. Martin Victorious

If Lake County Baptist wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Cristo Rey St. Martin, they should've done a better job of containing Alexy Chapa. The Cristo Rey St. Martin CRSM took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 64-3 win over the Lake County Baptist Lions thanks in part to Chapa, who almost dropped a triple-double on 39 points, nine boards, and 11 steals. That makes it nine consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Cristo Rey St. Martin's points.

Lilibeth Martinez was another key player, going 9 of 15 on her way to 19 points and six steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game.

Cristo Rey St. Martin's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Lake County Baptist, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Cristo Rey St. Martin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 47-30 win against Varsity Opponent on the 25th. As for Lake County Baptist, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Berean Christian at 6:00 p.m. on February 14th.
