Basketball Recap: Buffalo Island Central Takes a Loss

Buffalo Island Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a hard 67-52 fall against the East Poinsett County Warriors. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-49 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Poinsett County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jacob Gaines, who went 6 of 11 en route to 13 points along with six assists and six boards. Another player making a difference was Tyrus Reel, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 15 points.

Buffalo Island Central's loss dropped their record down to 5-18. As for East Poinsett County, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Buffalo Island Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 72-36 defeat against Marmaduke on the 3rd. As for East Poinsett County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 74-43 win against Cross County on the 3rd.
