Baseball Recap: Shannon Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Shannon put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Tremont Eagles with a sharp 20-2 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Red Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Hayden Armstrong made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and only a hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stolen at least one in the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

In other batting news, Shannon got a massive performance out of Daniel Mullins, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Mullins a new career-high in RBI (three). Zach Davis was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Shannon's win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shannon will welcome Mooreville at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Tremont, they will challenge Houlka at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
