Basketball Recap: Triangle Math & Science Academy Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Triangle Math & Science Academy suffered their biggest defeat since November 14th on Tuesday. They were outmatched by the Franklin Academy Patriots and fell 59-30. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Tigers' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hansen Howard, who posted seven points.

Franklin Academy had a senior duo take command as Dylan Smith scored six points in addition to seven assists and seven boards and Jacob Barnes almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds. Barnes also brought in his first three-point shooting accuracy of the season. Nolan Fotheringham also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Triangle Math & Science Academy's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-5. As for Franklin Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Jailen Hawkins and Darin Jones. Meanwhile, Franklin Academy will challenge rival East Wake Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
