Basketball Game Preview: Arickaree Bison vs. Peetz Bulldogs

The Arickaree Bison will challenge the Peetz Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Arickaree is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.3 points per game this season.

Arickaree will head into Saturday's match on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking two-point defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Flagler on Saturday. Arickaree claimed a resounding 59-30 victory over Flagler. Given the Bison's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while the Panthers are ranked 232nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Arickaree's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jake King led the charge by going 7 for 10 on his way to 16 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Wright, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 16 points and eight rebounds.

Arickaree was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Flagler only posted three assists.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 60 points the game before, Peetz was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They lost to Merino on the road by a 45-28 margin. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Arickaree is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Peetz, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.

Arickaree couldn't quite finish off Peetz in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 and fell 49-46. Thankfully for Arickaree, Noah Naegele (who went 8 of 11 on his way to 24 points and six rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
