Football Recap: Middletown Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Middletown's offense. They came up short against the Susquehanna Township HANNA on Friday, falling 21-0. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Blue Raiders couldn't quite close it out.

Harrison Ortiz threw for 40 yards on three of 14 attempts. Javon Mosley was his top target, picking up 28 receiving yards. On the ground, Gavin Paul rushed for 51 yards on only six carries.

Torin Evans produced another solid effort rushing for 135 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, and also throwing for 220 yards and one TD for Susquehanna Township. Evans' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 109 rushing yards.

Middletown has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Susquehanna Township, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middletown will challenge Line Mountain at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Blue Raiders will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Susquehanna Township, they will take on East Pennsboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
