Softball Recap: Green Bay Preble Makes It 12 in a Row at Home

Green Bay Preble put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Sheboygan South Redwings a 15-0 shutout. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by nine runs or more this season.

Tenley Kuehn was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Hannah VonHaden was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Chloe Savage also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Green Bay Preble kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Green Bay Preble pushed their record up to 13-0 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Sheboygan South, they are on a 32-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Green Bay Preble will face off against Ashwaubenon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jaguars will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sheboygan South, they will take on Plymouth at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
