Recap: Pace Vikings vs. Porter Cowboys
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Harlingen South, the Pace Vikings were happy to have found some success on Friday. They walked away with a 41-32 win over Porter. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Pace also won the last time the pair played last Saturday.
Pace got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kayla Cavazos out in front who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. Andrea Salgado was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Pace's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-16. As for Porter, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
Pace will be home for the holidays to greet Lopez at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Porter, they will head out on the road to face off against Edcouch-Elsa at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Edcouch-Elsa has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
