Basketball Recap: Socastee Wins Going Away Against North Myrtle Beach

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Carolina Forest, Socastee was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the North Myrtle Beach Chiefs with a sharp 62-41 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Braves have posted since December 7, 2024.

It was another big night for Bryson Sams, who almost dropped a double-double with 24 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in steals (six). Jase Wethington was another key player, putting up six points.

Several Chiefs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Wells Hill, who posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Primere Lewis, who put up eight points.

Socastee's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 8-11. As for North Myrtle Beach, they dropped their record down to 11-11 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Socastee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 59-55 loss against Myrtle Beach on the 4th. As for North Myrtle Beach, they have also already played their next matchup, a 60-42 victory against Carolina Forest on the 4th.
