Basketball Recap: Burns Falls Despite Big Games from Mason Medley and Duggan Kriz

Burns played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 64-39 to the Buffalo Bison. The loss continues a trend for the Broncs in their matchups with the Bison: they've now lost eight in a row.

Despite the defeat, Burns had strong showings from Duggan Kriz, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 14 points in addition to five boards and three steals, and Mason Medley, who posted six points. What's more, Kriz also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in January of 2024.

Buffalo's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brady Engling, who went 5-for-9 en route to 16 points and six rebounds. Engling has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last four times he's played. Zayne Huber was another key player, putting up 14 points and three steals.

Burns' loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Buffalo, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burns will head out to square off against Glenrock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Buffalo, they are taking a road trip to challenge Douglas at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Douglas' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 matches.
