Football Recap: Mccook Central/Montrose Piles Up the Points Against Webster + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mt. Vernon/Plankinton, McCook Central/Montrose was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Webster Bearcats 42-8. That's more bragging rights for the Fighting Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

A big part of McCook Central/Montrose's win came down to the chemistry between Andrew Sabers and his top target Parker Randall. Sabers rushed for 46 yards while Randall gained 57 total yards.

McCook Central/Montrose was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 206 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Webster only rushed for 12 rushing yards.

The victory got McCook Central/Montrose back to even at 1-1. As for Webster, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McCook Central/Montrose will challenge Beresford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Fighting Cougars their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Webster, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central at 7:00 p.m. on September 12.
