Football Recap: McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars vs. Webster Bearcats
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mt. Vernon/Plankinton, McCook Central/Montrose was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Webster Bearcats 42-8. That's more bragging rights for the Fighting Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
A big part of McCook Central/Montrose's win came down to the chemistry between Andrew Sabers and his top target Parker Randall. Sabers rushed for 46 yards while Randall gained 57 total yards.
McCook Central/Montrose was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 206 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Webster only rushed for 12 rushing yards.
The victory got McCook Central/Montrose back to even at 1-1. As for Webster, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
