It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Pace had no problem doing just that on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bartow Yellow Jackets a 2-0 shutout. Pace's pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last four contests.

Jayden Heavener made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. Heavener has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 27 consecutive pitching appearances. Heavener was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.

Heavener wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Shelby McKenzie, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
