Soccer Game Preview: Mt. Vernon vs. Richland County

The Mt. Vernon Rams are taking a road trip to face off against the Richland County Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Mt. Vernon is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Mt. Vernon came up short against Centralia on Thursday, falling 5-2.

Meanwhile, Richland County has been on a difficult stretch since their win on September 27. Neither they nor Robinson could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Richland County's draw gives them a new season record of 10-7-4. As for Mt. Vernon, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.

Mt. Vernon took their victory against Richland County in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 6-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
