Basketball Recap: South Caldwell's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Tuesday

South Caldwell won the last time they faced Ashe County and things went their way on Tuesday too. The South Caldwell Spartans took down the Ashe County Huskies 70-53. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Huskies are ranked 435th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bryce Peters, who posted 14 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Graybeal, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
