Taeshon Martin and Co. Win 24th in a Row

Mount Airy picked up their 24th consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Taeshon Martin. Nobody could stop Martin as he rushed for 187 yards and four touchdowns on only eight carries. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his eighth straight game with at least 116 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Martin is probably looking forward to his next game, a home matchup against Elkin on Thursday. When Martin last faced the Buckin' Elks back in October of 2023, he rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.

Kinston Crater Turns in Season-Best Performance

Kinston Crater produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Starmount to the win on Friday. Crater rushed for 150 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in November of 2023.

The victory made it two in a row for Starmount and bumps their season record up to 6-1. Their homestand will continue as they prepare to take on East Wilkes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Collins Posts Huge Game in 55-6 Win

Another Starmount player making an appearance on this list is Luke Collins. He threw for 125 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 36 yards. He didn't just play on offense: he also made three total tackles and defended a pass in addition to snagging an interception.

This year, Collins has thrown 17 touchdowns while averaging 153.3 passing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he had seven passing touchdowns.
