Softball Game Preview: Boyertown Bears vs. Quakertown Panthers

The Boyertown Bears will challenge the Quakertown Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Boyertown will be strutting in after a victory while Quakertown will be coming in after a loss.

Last Monday, everything went Boyertown's way against Plymouth Whitemarsh as Boyertown made off with a 13-3 win. That's two games straight that the Bears have won by exactly ten runs.

Kyra Neiswender made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Neiswender was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Rielynn Carey and Lindsay Mathias did most of the damage at the plate: Carey went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Mathias fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Hailey Schildt was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Quakertown kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of Upper Perkiomen by a score of 10-9.

Boyertown's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.5 runs. As for Quakertown, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
