Basketball Recap: Newport Takes a Loss

Newport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 52-43 to the East Valley Knights. While the Grizzlies didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Knights 20-10 in the first quarter.

Newport's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for East Valley, they moved to 1-6 with that win, which also ended their 17-game losing streak.

Newport and Medical Lake will round out the year against one another at at 10:30 a.m. on Monday. As for East Valley, they will square off against Kettle Falls at 9:00 a.m. on Monday.
