Soccer Game Preview: Batesburg-Leesville vs. Irmo

The Batesburg-Leesville Panthers will head out to square off against the Irmo Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Batesburg-Leesville can't be to happy about their upcoming road matchup considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Tuesday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was Providence Athletic Club who was credited with the win.

Cypress Moreno and Avelardo Cabrera scored both of Batesburg-Leesville's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Irmo is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Newberry on Tuesday. Irmo fell just short of Newberry by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty six goals in the game before, the Yellow Jackets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Batesburg-Leesville might still be hurting after the 7-1 defeat they got from Irmo in their previous matchup back in March of 2021. Can Batesburg-Leesville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
