Softball Recap: Oak Mountain Finds Home Field Redemption Against Mortimer Jordan

There's no place like home for Oak Mountain, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Mortimer Jordan Blue Devils on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 19-1 back in February.

Oak Mountain's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Elia Carrillo, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Carrillo has posted since back in February. Sheridan Andrews was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Oak Mountain hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 11-4 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Oak Mountain's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-14. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mortimer Jordan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-19.
