Baseball Recap: TEACH Homeschool Has No Trouble Against Northeastern

TEACH Homeschool won the last time they faced Northeastern and things went their way on Monday too. TEACH Homeschool was the clear victor by an 8-1 margin over Northeastern. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Beach Breakers.

Christopher Gard made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Gard wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Vinny Whitehurst, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave Whitehurst a new career-high. Evan Vazquetelles also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

TEACH Homeschool picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 3-5. As for Northeastern, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coming up, TEACH Homeschool will face off against Wake County HomeSchool at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wake County HomeSchool will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something TEACH Homeschool surely won't give up without a fight. As for Northeastern, they will head out to take on Hertford County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northeastern is facing Hertford County at the right time seeing as Hertford County is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
