Football Game Preview: Morrilton Devil Dogs vs. Alma Airedales

The Morrilton Devil Dogs will face off against the Alma Airedales at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Morrilton managed to slip by Greenbrier the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Devil Dogs were beaten by the Panthers 52-21 on Friday. The loss was the Devil Dogs' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Alma played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 41-13 defeat at the hands of Harrison. The Airedales were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-6.

Having lost for the first time this season, Morrilton fell to 3-1. As for Alma, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Morrilton won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, slipping by Alma 30-29. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Airedales' Michael Taylor, who rushed for 174 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.7 yards per carry, and also threw for 47 yards and one touchdown. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Devil Dogs to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
