Basketball Recap: Three Straight Road Wins for Stockdale

While Stockdale didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 69-62 win over the Sierra Pacific Golden Bears on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.

Sierra Pacific lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Colin Dodd, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 boards. Another player making a difference was Nevin Pitkin, who posted 14 points and three steals.

Stockdale's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4. As for Sierra Pacific, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stockdale will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Tehachapi at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tehachapi will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Stockdale surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sierra Pacific, they will square off against Tulare Western at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sierra Pacific knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Tulare Western likes a good challenge.
