It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Americas had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Monterey Plainsmen. The win was familiar territory for Americas, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Robert Mu?oz was the driving force of Americas' attack as he scored both of Americas' goals, bringing his season total up to three goals.

Americas pushed their record up to 13-6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Monterey, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 19-1-2.

Looking ahead, Americas will face off against Richland at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Monterey does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
