The Briarwood Christian Lions lost to the Homewood Patriots back in October of 2022, but The Briarwood Christian Lions didn't allow the Homewood Patriots the same satisfaction on Friday. Briarwood Christian walked away with a 20-13 victory over Homewood.
Homewood's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being King Walker, who picked up 114 receiving yards and a touchdown. Walker was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 65 yards.
Briarwood Christian now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Homewood, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-4.
Briarwood Christian will head out on the road to face off against Fairhope at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Fairhope: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Briarwood Christian has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. Homewood will take on Jasper at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jasper will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Homewood is ranked 55th).
