Basketball Recap: Surrattsville Hornets vs. Central Falcons

The Surrattsville Hornets can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Central 69-21 at home. The victory was nothing new for Surrattsville as they're now sitting on six straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Surrattsville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nadia Simpson, who scored 28 points. Simpson hasn't dropped below 19 points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Hope Parker, who scored 18 points.
Despite the loss, Central still got an impressive performance from Samiyah Gibson, who scored 16 points. That was a full 76.2% of Central's points, marking the tenth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Surrattsville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. As for Central, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Surrattsville will play host again and welcome the Sea Turtles, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. International High School at Largo comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 14 points in their last eight games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Central, they and the Clippers will face off at 7:15 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Oxon Hill's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
