Basketball Recap: Zamariyah Walker Key Part of Team Effort in Cowboys Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pinecrest Academy Cadence, Chaparral was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Amplus Academy Archers by a score of 33-25.

Chaparral's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zamariyah Walker led the charge by putting up ten points in addition to eight boards and seven steals. The dominant performance also gave Walker a new career-high in blocks (seven). Another player making a difference was London Bunn - Abreau, who posted eight points and eight steals.

Vanesa Rozniece and Salematou Kaba certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Rozniece dropped a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds, while Kaba had two points along with 11 boards and three steals.

Chaparral's record is now 4-16. As for Amplus Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

Chaparral has already played their next match, a 62-2 loss against Mater Academy East Las Vegas on the 7th. Amplus Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
