After a string of nine wins, Elkmont's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the East Limestone Indians by a score of 2-1. The Red Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Indians earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Elkmont saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Guthrie, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Elkmont's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for East Limestone, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-8.

Coincidentally, Elkmont and East Limestone will both be playing Vinemont the next time they take the field. Elkmont will host Vinemont at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while East Limestone will play them later in the day, at 6:30 p.m.
