Softball Recap: Terre Haute South Vigo Comes Up Short

Terre Haute South Vigo extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 1-6 in the process. They fell 6-1 to the Bloomington North Cougars. The Braves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Marcia Parker made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Those stolen bases marked the first that she has snagged this season.

As for Bloomington North, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

On Bloomington North's side, Kendyl Feutz made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Feutz was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Feutz wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Keylee Taylor, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Taylor has posted since back in April of 2024.

Terre Haute South Vigo wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 7-6 loss against Sullivan on the 18th. As for Bloomington North, they have also already played their next contest, a 13-7 defeat against Martinsville on the 18th.
