Football Game Preview: Central Columbia Bluejays vs. Mifflinburg Wildcats

The Central Columbia Bluejays will face off against the Mifflinburg Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central Columbia is looking for their season's first win.

Central Columbia's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Milton on Friday. They had to suffer through a 55-0 loss at the hands of the Black Panthers.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 7-7 at halftime, Mifflinburg was not quite Southern Columbia Area's equal in the second half on Friday. They took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 7-0 in the first quarter.

Central Columbia will need to focus on slowing down Chad Martin, one of several Mifflinburg players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 231 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 56 yards. Mifflinburg's leading receiver Landen Murray was Martin's top target yet again, picking up 105 receiving yards and one TD.

Mifflinburg's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Central Columbia, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Central Columbia was dealt a bruising 56-0 defeat at the hands of Mifflinburg in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Martin, who threw for 194 yards and four touchdowns on only 18 passes, and also rushed for 78 yards on only eight carries. Now that the Bluejays know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
