It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact St. Michael the Archangel can now relate to. They came up short against the Lift for Life Academy Hawks on Saturday, falling 48-28. The Guardians' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why St. Michael the Archangel lost, don't look at Gage Burgess. Despite the final result, he rushed for 124 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 76 yards and one TD.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lift for Life Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jay'Veon Scott, who rushed for 149 yards and a pair of scores. Those 149 rushing yards gave Scott a new career-high. Ekeilan Henderson was another key player, picking up 106 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

St. Michael the Archangel's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Lift for Life Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

St. Michael the Archangel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lift for Life Academy, they will take on Seneca at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
