Basketball Recap: Ashland-Greenwood Takes a Loss

Ashland-Greenwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-40 heartbreaker at the hands of the Roncalli Catholic Crimson Pride. The Bluejays were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crimson Pride apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.

Ashland-Greenwood's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Roncalli Catholic, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ashland-Greenwood and Aurora will face off at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Ashland-Greenwood is facing Aurora at the right time seeing as Aurora is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Roncalli Catholic, they and Gross Catholic will face off at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Gross Catholic will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Roncalli Catholic surely won't give up without a fight.
