Basketball Recap: Riverside Beats Central Valley for Their Seventh Straight Win

Riverside waltzed into their match on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They strolled past the Central Valley Cougars with points to spare, taking the game 61-42. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 62-50 back in January.

Despite the loss, Central Valley had strong showings from Zevan Wolf, who posted nine points in addition to six boards and three steals, and Taesian Soto, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds. That's the most steals Wolf has posted since back in December of 2024. Grant Dusatko was another key player, putting up eight points.

Riverside pushed their record up to 14-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points over those games. As for Central Valley, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 15-7.

Looking ahead, Riverside will take on Twin Loup on Tuesday. Central Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
