It was a good run, but Standley Lake unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Erie Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Gators of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-16, 24-26, 25-18.

Jojo Martin paced Standley Lake's offense, picking up ten kills. Martin got some help from Alivia Lambrecht-Gardner and her 22 assists. Finally, Jenna Warwick and Roma Gratny kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked three attacks.

Erie can attribute much of their success to Olivia Harris, who had 22 digs and two aces. Harris has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last six times she's played.

Standley Lake's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Erie, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Standley Lake will take on Elizabeth at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Erie, they will square off against Longmont at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
