Two dominant backs in Hezzie Rudisill and Braylon Thompson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. After both having extra time off, the Hendersonville Bearcats and the Brevard Blue Devils will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Brevard is facing Hendersonville at the wrong time: Hendersonville suffered their first home loss of the season last Friday and they're likely out for redemption. They were dealt a 49-21 loss at the hands of the Cavaliers.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Rudisill, who rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown. He was even better on defense, making nine total tackles and defending a pass in addition to snagging two interceptions. Amir Albany got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Hendersonville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Rudisill.

Meanwhile, Brevard entered their tilt with Chase last Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They claimed a resounding 54-0 win over the Trojans at home. The matchup marked the Blue Devils' most dominant victory of the season so far.

It was another big night for Thompson, who rushed for 68 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyrell Skinner, who rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.

Brevard wouldn't let Chase keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Brevard can thank Coleman Smith and Dillon Galloway for forcing both of them. Smith also set a new season high mark in total tackles with 13.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Brevard was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 263 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 185 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

Hendersonville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Brevard, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
