Softball Recap: Walled Lake Western Comes Up Short

Walled Lake Western was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 15-5 to the Stevenson Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 on Thursday.

Sierra Geisler stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Ava Domzalski, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Walled Lake Western's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Stevenson, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-8-1.

Looking ahead, Walled Lake Western will venture away from home to square off against Detroit Country Day at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Stevenson, they will host West Bloomfield at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lakers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.18 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
