Deerfield can bid farewell to their 11-match losing streak thanks to their match on Monday. They won by a set and slipped past the Moscow Wildcats 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Spartans have posted since September 16th.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Deerfield got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 18-25, 25-23.

Deerfield's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-18. As for Moscow, they now have a losing record of 11-12-2.

Moscow has already played their next match, a 0-0 tie against Rolla on the 6th. Hopefully Deerfield paid attention to the Wildcats' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Wildcats on Tuesday.
