Baseball Recap: Heritage Academy Drops Season-High Score on Red Bird

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Heritage Academy). Everything went their way against the Red Bird Cardinals on Saturday as Heritage Academy made off with an 18-2 victory. With that win, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Austin Brown made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Heritage Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-2 otherwise. Brown was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Heritage Academy got a massive performance out of Elliot Kloss, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Benjamin Brown was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Heritage Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory got Heritage Academy back to even at 3-3. As for Red Bird, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Heritage Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against Red Bird: the pair will be back at it again later today.
