Volleyball Recap: El Diamante Miners vs. Porterville Panthers

After flying high against Monache last Thursday, El Diamante came back down to earth. The El Diamante Miners came up short against the Porterville Panthers on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The Miners haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

While El Diamante was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-16, 25-20.

Leading Porterville to victory were Sianna Prum and Ryeann Anthony. Prum had 12 digs, while Anthony had eight digs and six kills. Prum is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in the last four games she's played dating back to last season.

El Diamante's defeat dropped their record down to 18-7. As for Porterville, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Mt. Whitney the next time they take the court. El Diamante will host Mt. Whitney at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Porterville will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
